Experience in raising a Labrador dog breed
The Labrador is one of the most famous and desirable pets. The real name of the breed is "Labrador retriever". An old Canadian legend presents it to us as the son of a dog and an otter – that is why the Labrador is more than a simple four-legged swimmer. From a scientific point of view, however, it is derived from Newfoundland and, in particular one of his scaled variety, called in the past little dog St. John. In any case, it is undisputed that Labrador is an excellent and tireless swimmer and that it was this characteristic that made him so famous worldwide. The breed was brought to England from Canada around 1800.
With its incredibly good and peaceful character today this dog is a loved pet. Glamorous, irresistible, with altruistic character, it easily adapts, is unpretentious, sincere and sympathetic to people and animals.

The Labrador is playful and gentle with children and can spend hours playing with them. If you are out it will not be tired to play ball, jump and catch a Frisbee. This dog is always ready for games and movement. Field tours, swimming, games for assets and agility are what he needs to be happy and in good health.
With a Labrador your life will never be boring! Always cheerful, this is the perfect dog for an athlete by nature. It loves to swim, run and play. A lazy owner is the worst thing that can happen to a Lab. If left bored, and even worse, the attention to him to be replaced with treats outside the regular meal, that is the surest way to ruin your pet.

If you have a Labrador, you must be prepared to start his training from a very early age to allow the dog time to acquire a lot of skills. You must be careful with its sharp teeth growing. It has the unique ability to learn. It is not necessary to have the best coach, you just have to make an effort and the dog will understand. Well-trained Labrador can carry an egg in his mouth without breaking it and therefore has earned the nickname "soft mouth".

If there was a rating for dogs, that appear most often on the covers of weekly magazines as an emblem of devotion and courage, the first place would normally belong to the Labrador. Faithful companion of New York firefighters who sacrificed their own lives on that tragic September 11th to save hundreds of people from the rubble of the Twin Towers, that dog already has shown courage at other shocking events. How many times have we seen it sneaking in ruins after an earthquake, pulling to light people already considered doomed. Often it reassures us as we see it runs close to the foot of the lifeguards on the beaches, ready to throw in the water at the first command to save the drowning. We met it at airports accompanying anti-drug police. A dog, for which the most difficult activities seem a commonplace.

The good and sympathetic character, the willingness to always available satisfy the desires of its owner, the ability to handle all kinds of situations, the speed and courage, makes this dog extraordinary valuable. The Labrador is alive and active, needs a lot of movement to deliver a burst of large energy. It is the right choice for a prudent and intelligent family that loves the outdoor life and consciously willing to share it with a healthy athlete, full of energy.

The puppy will become a friendly and pleasant family member if it knows from a very young age where is its place in the hierarchy. From his mother he had already learned what his limits are placed, what can and cannot do. Good manners are a must. It's like feeding - the quality and quantity of the efforts at an early age when dogs are particularly susceptible paid rich dividends later.
What I mean is that the little puppy, and grown-up dog needs time, care and attention. It is not plush toy that will sit at peace when you feel sleepy, cold or you have other plans. No, usually right then when you are most needed. The small lab is absolutely in your hands and if you're not ready for it is better not to buy it at all.

There isn't any danger that a Labrador can fight with other dogs. If they have a flaw, it is their excessive friendliness. They are open and friendly to everyone, but not all of them respond with the same, so that the goodness of Labrador sometimes brings trouble. Although Labradors are good dogs, they still warn when a stranger approached the door. Their deep, loud barking might scare away thieves, although they are not guard dogs. Actually, it is more likely if they joyfully greet the visitor to play around with him, instead of trying to respect him. Of course, not all labs are the same. Some are more docile than others, but that depends on the education and behavior of their owners. There are representatives of the breed who almost never bark and do not like when other dogs barking at them. Others are more vocal, but they are all very good, kind and gentle.

Labrador is very sociable and always in good spirits, with constantly wagging tail. The easy to establish a relationship of mutual trust with people is probably the most important feature for use in civil defense tasks, such as assisting in the earthquake, collapse of buildings and naturally in water. Its temper makes it an excellent playmate of children, if they are not too small. Females, on the contrary have grown to become more calm and patient than males. This, together with the gentle character and instilling peace and security in appearance, is one of the reasons why the breed is very used for pet-therapy, ie psychological support for people with health problems. Trained for this serious task and accompanied by its instructor, Labrador makes its first entry into the hospital room. And suddenly there is a Holiday: kisses, caresses, tossing balls and bringing them back to become the best treatment for the morale of patients, whether young or old.

Small puppies are like soft velvet toys with big soft eyes that invite to endless cuddles. Even a grown one is still as kind and soft as a small one. An adult Lab exceeds half a meter at the withers and rarely seen specimens, mostly males that are higher than the ideal limit standard. The body is solid, long shoulders, straight legs and tail thick at the base. The coat may be the color of honey, chocolate or pure black. Everything in this dog conveys power, impetuosity and tenderness, united in an irresistible mix.
Not by chance in recent years Labrador reaped great successes. This popularity, however, pose a risk to the quality of the breeding work: too many specimens are imported as a commodity from intensively working kennels. It is therefore necessary to better inform yourself before buying a puppy. When a breed enjoys success and is so highly sought after, there is always a risk of fraud.

The sense of smell of a Labrador Retriever is 25 percent better than the German Shepherd. The Lab Yogi, who lives in Britain, has received the Gold Medal Knight, as he helped to uncover 490 cases of hidden drugs.

Labrador Retrievers have a lot of energy consumption, so are not suitable for people who stand in front of the TV all day. They are also quite large and heavy, so the apartment is not the best option for the life of this breed. Homes with courtyards and lots of space to frolic are the best places for growing them.

The walk with a Labrador is the best start of a daily exercise, but a simple walk around the block will not meet its daily requirements for exercise. These dogs need to run every day to spend their energy. If not trained properly they will become devastating. A bored Labrador will gnaw everything that comes into its mouth. Hunters can take them with you to the right to hunt and bring the prey, even in icy water temperatures.
Due to their susceptibility to education and memorizing of commands, these dogs very rarely would do some mischief in the house or your apartment. They will implement extremely thoroughly everything ordered by their owner. You need only two or three toys with which your dog will play while is home alone and everything will be fine. If once your pet makes any mischief, such as a eating a shoe or slipper, and receives strict command or punishment, the Labrador will never repeat this mistake.
It is impossible not to fall in love with these animals! And as it is said: "The only way to feel love, is to take a Labrador puppy home."
