The Samoyed is a Russian breed and has existed for three thousand years. This is one of the most ancient northern breeds. These dogs, also known as Laiki Samoyed, are very sociable. They were key helpers of the Samoyed tribe, from which their name derived. This is a beautiful dog of medium size. Males reach a height of 69 cm, females up to 53 cm. Males weigh up to 30 kg, females up to 21 kg. Eyes are almond-shaped and dark brown or black. Blue and yellow eyes are defective. Coat is fluffy, with two layers. Ears are triangular and stand erect. Character and behavior
