Interesting facts

The first Puritans who sailed to the new continent (America) didn't leave behind their best friends. Among the 110 passengers aboard the ship “Mayflower”, that the history know about, there was one man who brought his dogs. That young guy was John Goodman. We don't know the names of these dogs, but they were a Mastiff and a Springer Spaniel. Mr Goodman passed away in 1620, but some of his friends Pilgrims continued to take care for his pets.

300 years later the famous Jean Leon Gerome Ferris painted a Springer Spaniel in his famous art: "The First Thanksgiving, 1621."
